As a new mom, there are so many things to think about. Is my baby feeling okay? Is my baby hungry? How will I know what my baby needs? One thing for sure is that you can use this checklist to make sure your baby is in the safest sleep environment. Struggles to Cuddles Sleep Consulting follow the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidelines for safe sleep.
What is a safe sleep environment
-Crib/ own sleeping area
-Firm, flat mattress
-Fitted Sheet (make sure it is tight)
-Placed on the back
-Swaddled if not rolling yet
-Sleep sack if rolling (never a weighted one)
-paci (you can have more than 1 in the crib)
-Sound machine
-Darkroom
What should NOT be in the crib?
-Blankets
-Stuffed Animals
-Boppy
-DockAtock or any other type of lounger
-Soft mattress or pillow top mattress
There is so much to learn and remember when you have a little one. I hope this list helps!
Sweetest Dreams,
Meghan
